Britain’s up and coming golfers could soon be driving in style in more ways than one after Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire holed a business partnership with the PGA Europro Tour.

The group, which has retail outlets in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford and Stevenage, has teamed up with one of the Tour’s main sponsors, matchroom.com, to add another prestigious name to its list of supporters and assist players with their motoring requirements.

Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire will be introducing its services and vehicle range at one of the tour’s qualifying schools at Stoke by Nayland Golf Course near Colchester at the end of March. It will also have a presence at the majority of the 11 tournaments that make up the Tour, which is a rung below the main PGA Tour and tees off at Wensum Valley Golf & Country Club in Norwich on 27th April.

The group already has strong ties with golf having staged its own highly successful, regional competition for the past 3 years. The Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire Golf Challenge is a Stableford competition played by more than 2,000 golfers from 30 clubs with a grand final at Hanbury Manor.

“We’re delighted to increase our links with a sport that is the main interest of many Mercedes-Benz owners and we look forward to working in partnership with matchroom.com to support the PGA Europro Tour and its players, many of whom we hope will become the future stars of the game,” said Mark Whitworth, Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire’s Group Marketing & CRM Manager.

“As part of our support, we will have a dedicated team available to handle any enquiries from the players, who we will be in touch with on a regular basis to keep them informed about news and special offers that we think will be of interest.”

Among the first players to be driving a Mercedes-Benz could be the winner of the qualifying school as Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire is looking to provide a car for three months as first prize.

“Mercedes-Benz has been a major supporter of golf worldwide for many years so we’re thrilled to secure the association of this fantastic brand on the PGA Europro Tour,” said Sam Piggott, Europro Tour Manager. “Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire has already demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm with setting up this partnership and I’m confident that their professional approach and first-class service will be of great benefit to the players on the Tour.”
