We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join our team.


Job Summary 

 

  • Perform assigned work swiftly, safely and to a high standard. 
  • To oversee the duties of apprentices as required.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Perform all work assigned quickly and economically, to the company’s and manufacturer’s standards and maintain maximum productivity.
  • Advise service team manager if additional work is required on a vehicle and seek his/her assistance in the rectification of faults.
  • Supervise and assist with the training of any apprentice when requested by Workshop supervisor/service team manager or service manager.
  • Maintain a high level of competence for the work to be undertaken by undergoing onsite training, attending courses at suppliers, manufacturers and technical bulletins as required.
  • Discuss with customers problems with the vehicle as required.
  • Ensure the company image of professionalism and quality of service is maintained when dealing with customers.
  • Operate all equipment and carry out all duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain equipment, protective clothing and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Assist management with the introduction of new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.
  • Work within the disciplines of ISO 9002 and the health and safety officer.
  • Be responsible for your own quality control.

  • Previous experience in a similar role. 
  • Organisation and administration.

General Accountabilities

 

  • Understand the background to Mercedes-Benz & their philosophy.
  • Be well informed on Mercedes-Benz/smart products & services relevant to role.
  • Implement Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribute to the business and department, making recommendations for improvements to Manager.
  • Show the right attitude of enthusiasm, conduct and attendance.
  • Support Manager and team effort and build good relations with Manager and fellow team members.
  • Develop self by attending all training sessions, putting learning points into practice.
  • Act in an ethically sound manner in line with the Company’s values and principles, showing respect for colleagues and the environment and complying with company rules, reporting any irregular or unethical behaviour to the General Manger and HR.

Benefits

 

  • Full time, permanent
  • 40 Hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:30 with Saturday rota (overtime).
