The all-electric EQA is available to order and test drive.

Electric Intelligence in a compact shell. The EQA is the first fully electric compact car and the entry point to the world of Mercedes-EQ. Available with one electric motor and front wheel drive or two electric motors and 4MATIC intelligent all-wheel drive, this new model can deliver a range of up to 264 miles[1]. The 66.5 kWh capacity battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes using a DC rapid charger and from 10 to 100 per cent in five hours and 45 minutes using an AC charger.

Make planning routes easy with EQ optimised navigation; EQA will calculate the fastest route to your destination and if your route is longer than your range it will plan charging stops. It is also able to set a remaining charge level. If you would like to arrive at your destination with 50% charge remaining in the car, it will add a charging stop on your route to ensure you finish your journey with the amount of energy you have specified. Mercedes me Connect services and Mercedes me Charge services are included for three years from activation.

The EQA can also react intelligently to changes in traffic or weather on your route. When being driven to a charging station the car will pre-condition its high capacity battery in order to ensure peak charging performance.

The design is futuristic yet familiar at the same time; Mercedes-EQ design features such as the black panel grille and twin light bars make this model instantly recognisable as a Mercedes-EQ. The design is intelligent too with huge emphasis placed on aerodynamics; the wheels are aerodynamically optimised in order to reduce turbulence therefore improving efficiency and range. The doors also extend down to cover the sills which helps the driver and passengers to avoid picking up dirt when hopping in. Another practical touch is polished aluminium roof rails which is standard on all models.

The EQA includes a wealth of safety systems as standard including Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Brake Assist. Working with the proven chassis of the GLA, the EQA was extensively modified to ensure the highest safety standards are met and exceeded. The battery sits within a specially developed frame designed to prevent damage from foreign objects.

Included as standard on board are Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Brake Assist. In critical situations, the purpose of the latter is to prevent a collision by means of autonomous braking, or to mitigate its severity. The system is also able to brake for stationary vehicles and crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

Taking the robust structure of the GLA as the basis, the body of the EQA was adapted to meet the particular demands that face an electric car. The battery sits within a specially developed frame made of extruded sections and maintains high chassis strength. A battery guard in the front area of the battery is able to protect the energy storage unit from being pierced by foreign objects, and thus also prevent consequential damages. Safety is key to Mercedes-Benz and the EQA completed an extensive crash testing programme along with a four-continent testing and development programme that spanned two summers and two winters.

The new EQA is available in two trim levels - Sport and AMG Line.
