The star is reborn. Taking its place at the top of the model range sits the SL Roadster. Developed by Mercedes-AMG from day one, the new SL carries seven decades of heritage to create a model with unmatched luxury and uncompromising performance. Returning to its roots, the SL uses a multi-layer fabric roof which can raise and lower in 13 seconds. Unlimited headroom can be accessed while on the move up to 37 mph. The cabin features four seats for the first time since 2001.

Under the bonnet is a choice of four-cylinder or 8-cylinder powerplants. The SL 43 uses a 2.0 litre mild-hybrid engine developing 421 hp, while the SL 55 and SL 63 use a 4.0 litre biturbo V8 with 476 or 585 hp and feature 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. Crowning the line-up is the SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE which pairs the V8 with a plug-in hybrid system to develop 816 hp and mind-altering acceleration.

Regardless of powertrain, the SL offers exemplary cruising characteristics with the dynamic prowess to back it up. The car is as at home on a motorway as it is carving through country lanes, with sharp steering and adaptive suspension suiting each driving style.  The car turns the heads of anyone who sees it, and turns each journey into a special occasion.
