The all-new EQS. Redefining electric luxury. Available to order now.

Say hello to the future of modern luxury. The all new, all electric EQS has been revealed as the flagship of the Mercedes-EQ range. Developed from the ground up on a purpose-built electric car platform, the EQS combines the highest standards of design, luxury, engineering and environmental considerations to create a segment defining car.

The gorgeous design sticks true to the Vision EQS concept from 2019 with pure and purposeful sculpting of the body panels. The EQ-specific black panel radiator grille houses the star which sits beneath one of the two full-width light bars; the second light bar at the rear of the car blends seamlessly into a helix design.

This truly is a car that looks distinctive yet familiar; unmistakeably a Mercedes yet immediately unique. The cab-forward design and the steeply raked bonnet and windscreen make the car look as if it is moving when sitting still. Your eye will follow the one-bow roof line towards the car’s muscular shoulders before returning to the front end.

Under the floor is a new generation high capacity battery. Encased within a protective shell, the battery has a usable energy content of 107.8 kWh which is enough to power the average UK home for just over eight days. Alternatively, you can use that energy to take you up to 453 miles* away from your starting point. The all new EQS has one of the longest WLTP ranges of any electric car on sale today.

Power is sent to the rear axle and delivered to the ground by the electric motor that generates up to 333 hp and 568 nm. Maintaining the refinement level that is expected of any Mercedes to feature an S in the name is achieved by the double-decoupled setup of the motor and the usage of sound insulating foam throughout the motor assembly.

World-beating aerodynamic efficiency also contributes to a virtually silent driving experience – you’ll need to really listen out for any wind noise as you are heading along. The cabin of the EQS shows what can be done when the worlds of technology and luxury fuse together. The optionally available MBUX Hyperscreen blends three displays into the dashboard under a single curved glass section stretching the full width of the car.

The stunning passenger cabin can be optionally upholstered in ARTICO Microcloud for an ethical interior with no compromise on quality. As part of Ambition 2039 – the pledge to have a carbon neutral passenger car fleet, the EQS is leading the way. Production takes place at Factory 56 in Stuttgart – a fully carbon neutral production centre.

The all new EQS is able to recharge using both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). AC charging is the most commonplace in the UK and is how the car will be charged most of the time; an AC wallbox can be installed at suitable properties. DC charging is emerging as the way to quickly top up the batteries on longer journeys – the ability to charge at up to 200kW DC allows for 186 miles’ worth of energy to be added in just 15 minutes. Topping up the battery from 10-80% takes only 31 minutes.

Charging is made more convenient than ever thanks to Mercedes me Charge. Mercedes-EQ customers gain access to one of the largest charging networks in the world with over 500,000 charging stations accessible through Mercedes me Charge. Billing is clear and convenient with no need to sign up to multiple energy providers; the Mercedes me Charge card is compatible with over 85% of the UK’s public charging network. EQS customers with Mercedes me Charge will receive free electricity at IONITY rapid charging stations for one year.
